"Latest research from landlord lender BM Solutions, part of Lloyds Banking Group, has confirmed what many professional landlords have long been saying: the best rental returns are to be found well away from the hotspots of London and the South East.
Price rises in and around the capital (up an annual 20pc, according to the latest data from the Office for National Statistics) have outstripped increases in rent and has led to reduced returns, the lender said.
BM Solutions, the biggest landlord lender, made its calculations on the basis of rent received against property value. This generated a yield figure for each of 12 regions."
